3G-iPhone 3G - Replacement connectors 3 +2

The replacement of the connector 3 has already been described in this article , while I have not spoken yet of the connector 2. The object was a 3G phone, with both connectors reduced in this state:

And here are the various stages of production. As usual, first of all you need to remove the connectors with the greatest care to avoid the tracks of the logic board is subjected to inappropriate and efforts to break:

The board should be cleaned with solvent for flux, even several times, and should also remove all the tin in excess using a hot air soldering iron and a desoldering braid, the logic here is after cleaning and ready to accept new connections:

Seeks to this point slot 3 first, always anchored by a lateral pin, reset by welding and then everyone else. The same is done for the connector 2, but unlike the previous one will be anchored through the special side supports. At this stage it is important to make sure the connector 2 is in contact with the tracks on the logic board, rather than being raised with regard to these, as in this case the welding would be very difficult. Always working with a soldering iron hot air can dissolve in it the pond, and then allow the connector to adhere well to the logic board and can be used conveniently even a welder infrared, being careful not to linger too much to prevent the connector deformed, even if it is appropriate to apply a higher amount of tin in all the pins of the logic board to do a single weld. Of course, before welding be spread a moderate amount of no-clean flux, without exaggeration and without drooling too much.

is the result:

The pond on the connector pins 2 can also be deposited with a soldering iron with tip of 0.2 mm maximum, using the technique of drag: melt a small amount of tin on the first leg of a row and dragging to the others. In the event that two or more legs sticking, simply drag the excess over the other, or remove it with a desoldering braid. If you want to use a hot air station, or infrared, you will have to draw the pond before placing the connector.

Enjoy!
